I have installed enlightenment (e17) desktop shell in my Ubuntu 5.10. Ubuntu comes with e16, which is quite old one. I downloaded and installed the e17 from source. Really it is amazing quality of animated eye candy desktop shell.However it needs improvement in useability (clearly GNOME leads!). e17 does not consume appreciable CPU and memory, that is wonder. Here is my desktop screenshot for preview.
